Impact on DEI in the Wake of the SCOTUS Affirmative Action Ruling

If you’re wondering how the United States Supreme Court decision regarding affirmative action could impact your workplace, please join us for a complimentary one-hour virtual program on October 17, 2023. We will discuss the decision made in Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College and its impact on employment settings, including employers that maintain Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This program might particularly interest those serving in DEI roles and/or in human resources, legal, compliance, or leadership roles.

The program will cover:

  • The benefits of a diverse and inclusive workforce and the importance of continuing DEI initiatives.

  • The key lawsuits filed and/or the challenges of DEI-related programs and/or affirmative action programs in the wake of the decision and a discussion about/of reverse discrimination claims.

  • The response by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and other government agencies to the decision’s general non-applicability to employment claims.

  • A discussion of the types of policies or practices that may be more highly scrutinized after this decision so that employers can review their existing DEI initiatives to ensure compliance.
