Navigating Interviewing/Hiring, Managing Disabilities/Reasonable Accommodations, and Understanding Drug Testing Complications in the Wake of New Cannabis Laws

This program will address:

  • Recruiting and hiring issues, including job descriptions, interviewing, permissible inquiries, pre-employment testing, and background checks

  • How to prevent, respond to, and investigate complaints regarding discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

  • How to effectively handle discipline, demotions, and promotions.

  • The importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and minimizing unconscious/implicit bias.

  • How to manage employee leaves, disabilities, and reasonable accommodation requests.

  • Drug Testing and Cannabis Laws.

  • How the COVID-19 pandemic and social movements such as Black Lives Matter, Stop Asian Hate, and the #MeToo Movements impact the workplace.

  • Service and assistance animal issues, reasonable accommodation requests involving service animals, and appropriate interactions between employees and service animals.

Sessions last approximately 60-90 minutes.
