Unpacking White Privilege, Avoiding Stereotypes, and Building Culturally Aware Workforces and Employment Practices

This program will address:

  • The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter, Stop Asian Hate, and #MeToo Movements on the social and legal landscape.

  • Unconscious/implicit bias and how it may lead to discriminatory and harassing conduct.

  • Different types of unconscious bias and how they arise at work.

  • How to detect personal biases through implicit association tests.

  • The role that microaggressions/microinequities and microaffirmations play.

  • Prejudices and stereotypes and how they can improperly impact workplace decisions.

  • Understanding the implications of White Privilege.

  • The importance of expanding cultural competency and awareness of different cultures.

  • How to recognize biases and engage in specific behavioral steps to interrupt biases in professional interactions.

Sessions last approximately 60-90 minutes.
