Conducting Effective Employment Investigations Lunch & Learn

Please join us on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 12 p.m. (ET) as we continue our complimentary, virtual Lunch & Learn series with the topic, “Conducting Effective Employment Investigations.”

This program will focus on some key legal and practical guidance with respect to a variety of investigation topics.  Effective investigations are central to an employer’s ability to address and remediate problematic workplace behavior. When investigations are not prompt, thorough, and impartial, the investigation itself may come under attack in litigation and may create additional liability.  Ineffective investigations not only undercut affirmative defenses and increase exposure, but they also often negatively impact the workplace, including as to productivity and employee morale.

Join us for an informative conversation. This program may be of particular interest to employment lawyers, internal and external workplace investigators, in-house legal counsel, outside, human resources, employee relations, compliance, or organizational leaders.

This program will cover:

  • Legal Updates/EEOC Guidance
  • Providing Sound Confidentiality Instructions (NLRB vs. EEOC)
  • Avoiding Sham Investigations
  • Evaluating When to Use an Investigation Expert in Litigation
  • Considering Whether Attorney-Client/Work-Product Privileges Apply

Please note that this program will offer 1 PDC SHRM credit and 1.2 NJ CLE credits. If you are applying for NJ CLE credit, please download the form here.
