On April 23, 2021, Kirsten Scheurer Branigan was a speaker at the annual Public Employment Conference Webcast- 2021 New Jersey Public Employment Virtual Conference hosted by NJICLE in cooperation with PERC and NJSBA Labor and Employment Section. Ms. Branigan served on the panel, “Pay Equity and Compensation Systems: Bargaining compensation systems that comply with the Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act.”
Public employers have been particular targets in equal pay claims and continue to see the impact of expensive lawsuits and settlements. Given the tremendous exposure and risk, it is essential for employers to be proactive, undertake comprehensive self-evaluation audits, and promptly correct any pay disparities to comply with the Diane B. Allen EPA.
