On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Kirsten Scheurer Branigan spoke at the NJSBA Annual Meeting and Convention as part of two separate panels. She was a panelist for the program “Understanding the Impact of Racial Trauma: Supporting the Mental Health of Minority Attorneys” cosponsored by the Standing Committee on Diversity and Minorities in the Profession Section. The program discussed how the constant stress of navigating racism both externally and within the profession is a unique stressor for black attorneys and other attorneys of color. Valerie A. Jackson, Esq. moderated, and other speakers included James A. Lewis V, Esq. and Cheyne R. Scott, Esq.
Kirsten was also a part of the panel “Out of Sight, Out of Mind and Other Pitfalls for Women Who Work Remotely” cosponsored by the Women in the Profession Section. The program explored the impact of working remotely on attorney growth and advancement, the training of young lawyers, and in particular women in the profession. The Hon. Harriet Farber Klein (Ret.) and Linda A. Mainenti Walsh, Esq. moderated, and other speakers included Randi W. Kochman, Esq., William H. Mergner Jr., Esq., Tini Thomas, Esq., and Corinne McCann Trainor, Esq.
