Workplace Investigations: Understanding Micro-Aggressions and Implicit Bias

On January 27, 2023, Kirsten Scheurer Branigan was a panelist at a webinar hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education entitled “Workplace Investigations: Understanding Micro-Aggressions, Implicit Bias, and the Impact of Long-Term Virtual Workplaces on Employees and Workplace Cultures.” Ms. Branigan will be joined by moderator, Elizabeth Gramigna, Esq., and panelists Yvette Gibbons, Esq.; Elesia L. James, Esq.; Phil Lipari, Esq.; and Dina Mastellone, Esq.

This year’s workplace investigations seminar explored issues that are front and center in today’s investigations including, how micro-agressions and implicit bias show up in investigations, what courts consider an “effective” workplace investigation, the use of culture assessments, and open issues such as licensing.
