On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Carole Lynn Nowicki spoke, and Lori Ann Buza moderated, a program at Saint Peter’s University for their 2022 Women’s Empowerment Day. Ms. Buza is Counsel at KSB Law, Professor/Accountancy and Business Law Department Chair, and the Director of the Women’s Advancement and Leadership Institute (WALI) at Saint Peter’s University. Ms. Nowicki, a Partner at KSB Law, is also the General Counsel for the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and serves on its Executive Board. Ms. Nowicki discussed the history of women’s rights and gender issues in the United States and New Jersey, starting with the ratification of the 19th Amendment through the present day. Jessica S. Allen, a United States Magistrate Judge, spoke about her rise to success as a federal judge.
