Following Release of DCR Report, Governor Murphy Announces Bill to Overhaul New Jersey’s Anti-Workplace Harassment Laws

February 18, 2020 – Trenton, New Jersey

On February 18, 2020, the Division on Civil Rights and New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault released their Report which provided recommendations to the State of New Jersey in Preventing and Eliminating Sexual Harassment in New Jersey. The Report followed three public hearings of testimony regarding ways to combat sexual harassment.   Kirsten Scheurer Branigan, Esq. provided testimony during a hearing on September 24, 2019.

Simultaneously, on February 18, 2020, Governor Murphy released his Proposals to Strengthen New Jersey’s Anti-Harassment Laws which includes proposed legislation that, if passed, will implement many of the recommendations included in the Report.
