Bias Awareness in Workplace Investigations

This Training program will explore how biases can influence the integrity, fairness, and outcomes of workplace investigations. Attendees will learn to avoid conducting investigations where a known bias exists and to recognize common types of implicit bias (i.e., confirmation, availability, anchoring, and affinity biases) and understand how they impact decision-making during the investigation process—from determining the scope of the investigation, to witness interviews and document review, to credibility determinations and making findings of fact. Through examples from real investigations and interactive scenarios, attendees will be provided with the tools and strategies to mitigate bias during workplace investigations and ensure that such investigations are fair and objective.
