This Training is a tool to assist employers, managers and those with recruiting and hiring authority. The session will explore navigating recruiting and hiring, which has become increasingly challenging in light of federal and state laws limiting an employer’s ability to access certain types of information. It will provide useful tips and strategies to address questions and handle issues that may arise during the recruiting and hiring process.

  • When and whether it is permissible to inquire about a candidate’s physical abilities
  • Permissible medical testing
  • Expanding recruitment avenues and standardizing interviewing.
  • Establishing fair testing and selection procedures
  • Instituting clear criteria for hiring
  • Assembling an appropriate panel of interviewers
  • Minimizing unconscious bias during the recruiting and hiring process
