Cultural Awareness, Competence & Avoiding Taboo Colloquialisms

In today’s global society, workplaces in the US are more diverse than ever. It is critically important for employees to be culturally competent and aware and avoid negative cultural colloquialisms and microaggressions that may offend others, leading to tensions and hostility or even worse, claims of harassment in the workplace. This Training addresses awareness of microaggressions and microinequities and how they can demean and stereotype individuals of historically marginalized groups. It also reviews phrases and terms that have become part of the current lexicon but are rooted in bias and have negative cultural connotations.
