On September 10, 2024, the American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession (ABA CWP) held the 10th Anniversary of the Grit and Growth Mindset Project: Summit for Law Firm and In-House Leaders.
As Grit and Growth Mindset Project Co-Chairs, Jin Y. Hwang and Anna Gressel spearheaded organizing this Summit with the Committee and ABA CWP staff. The Summit brought together senior law firm decision makers, general counsel, and other in-house legal leaders to discuss the critical benefits that “grit” and “growth mindset” can bring to the legal profession and its practical applications for retention, advancement, and team satisfaction. Amazing speakers included Commission Chair Karol Corbin Walker, Commissioners and Grit and Growth Mindset Committee Co-Chairs Jin Hwang and Anna Gressel, ABA President William Bay, Vandana Venkatesh (Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, Verizon), Tammy Albarrán (Chief Legal Officer, Peloton), Seth Krauss (Chief Legal & Administrative Officer at TKO), Dr. Milana Hogan (Chief Talent Officer, Sullivan & Cromwell, and Author, Gritty Teams Report), and Paula Edgar (CEO, PGE Consulting LLC).
