Conducting Pay Equity Audits and Equal Pay Investigations

With pay equity and wage transparency laws rapidly evolving at the federal, state, and local levels, employers must be proactive in reviewing and adjusting their compensation practices. Conducting pay equity audits and responding appropriately to complaints of wage discrimination is critical in ensuring compliance, mitigating legal exposure, and supporting fair, defensible pay practices.

Join us, and our guest speakers, Arlene Q. Perez, Equity Partner and Director of Diversity & Inclusion at DeCotiis, and Katie McClure, Co-Founder of McClure Burden, for a KSB Law Lunch and Learn where we will discuss the legal, strategic, and practical benefits of conducting pay equity audits and investigations as well as trends in wage transparency and equal pay laws. This session will provide attendees with actionable guidance, legal insights, and tips to ensure compliance.

This session will cover:

  • Understanding the legal framework: federal, state, and local pay equity and wage transparency laws
  • Identifying the distinctions between proactive pay equity audits and reactive pay equity investigations
  • When and how to conduct an internal pay equity review or investigation
  • Legal considerations with respect to attorney-client privilege, documentation, and risk management
  • Gathering and analyzing relevant compensation data and comparing information across job categories
  • Mitigating legal risk and preserving privilege during pay equity audits and investigations
  • Addressing pay disparities and developing a plan for remediation
  • Best practices for maintaining equitable pay structures going forward

This program takes place on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Please note that this program will offer 1 PDC SHRM credit and 1.2 NJ CLE credits.
